ESPN has been counting down the Pac-10's Top 25 players from 2010. #2 on the list, LaMichael James, led the nation in rushing yards at 1,731 -- 144.25 yards per game. James also ranked second in the country with a modest 21 rushing touchdowns. Dude's got a little Jeff Maehl in him too after catching 17 passes this past season for 208 yards and three TD's. So sick.
What's next? James has one more year with the dopest team in CFB before likely jetting to the league of over paid players and greedy owners NFL. James is Oregon's first unanimous ALL-American. He Won the Doak Walker Award last years as the nation's best running back. He was also first-team All-Pac-10 for academics. Don't forget his Heisman finalist run. We can expect the voters to place LaMichael on a short list of Heisman Trophy Candidates this upcoming season and he'll likely be a pre-season All-American candidate too.
Look for #4 on this list, DT, to not only rise up the list next season, but really mature and come into his own as a QB. DT's already puts on quite a show. Once he fine tunes some things look for him to be a scary scary project of Chip Kelly's stunning offense.
Peace to #12 on the list Jeff Maehl. Dude came into Oregon on the Defensive side and ended up being one of Oregon's greatest recievers. Maehl frequented the student-rec center a lot when I worked there. He was nothing but kind and humble. Oregon fans everywhere appreciate his services and can't wait to see him get his chance on Sundays.
Kenny Rowe and Casey Mathews were a critical component to our defense. Tough dude's too. I think we can all agree that taking a hit from either of them would be about as enjoyable as a Gucci Mann track featuring Wacka Flacka and OJ Da Juiceman.
Talmadge Jackson and Clifford Harris held down O's backfield all season long. Cliffy will be a pre-season All-American next year, and his facebook fan page will likely surpass the 100k mark. Love my Ducks. Something tells me the Pac-12 North is going to have some trouble with our Duckies. It's hard to imagine Oregon becoming an even better team this upcoming season. It's hard to imagine Oregon Crazies getting any louder than they already have been at Autzen Stadium. Oregon will improve. And Oregon fans, comprised of college football's most die-hard fans, will find a way to push those decibel levels up even further. GO DUCKS!
