Good news, good news. Talwst Santiago will be releasing his highly-anticipated EP, Alien Tentacle Sex, next Tuesday. The project is fully-produced by Illangelo - the man behind some of Drake & The Weeknd's biggest hits. I heard the EP in it's entirety earlier today. I can vouch; it's super dope. Like incredible. Make sure to check out Talwst Santiago's thought-provoking track Peace Tonight - which TheJourney was fortunate enough to World Premier a few months back. Via Talwst's people:
The debut record from TALWST, "Alien Tentacle Sex" is out May 22, 2012 - a date which coincides with a lunar eclipse: "I'm putting myself between the listener and the world for a moment," he admits. The album weaves together classic instrumentation with dreamy layers of slow-burning seduction. With a tracklisting that boasts a luxe blend of complex arrangements and elements of tribal African rhythms layered beneath sinister synths and debauched lyricism. Inspired by bridging together the foreign and familiar, the album laments the rawness of post-midnight romance - track "I'd Die" tells a brazen tale of lustful desperation, with searing atmospheric blends and rattling rhythm samples, while the destitute ballad "No Stones" exposes the emotional underbelly that threads together the album's core concept in a signature #SoTall style.
