The homie Paul Judge splices Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' Wings alongside classic verses from Slim Shady and Fifty. Via Judge:
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' "Wings" is an amazing song and I owe about 99% of this track to them and the performance they got out of those kids singing the hook. I hadn't heard a really dope sample of this yet, and besides, it is the most personally definitive track on the album to me. It shows a different side of the album's theme than the first track - whereas "Young and Restless" was about trying to break through the mold that's been cast for you, "I'll Go So High" is about people that have realized how far they can go if they're only given the chance. It is more than rebellion - it is revelation. They have found a direction in their life that feels true and like the right thing for them to be doing, and they have already passed the point of no return and made a decision to dedicate themselves to their dreams. Enter Em and 50. Both artists have helped forever change the music industry by coming up independently and proving that people can succeed, beyond their wildest dreams, outside of the Tin Pan Alley dynasty of corporate creative control in the music industry. They are heroes to anyone trying to become a professional in the hip hop industry like me, and I love the idea that themes present in a song by Macklemore, the quintessential "underground hero" of today's indie rap scene, feel right at home with two of the most commercial, best-selling rappers of all time. Plus anytime Eminem says "this is your moment", if you don't get a little bit of chills then you're not human.
