In January, Picture Book released their first commercial EP At Last. The four track EP, available on iTunes, was co-written and recorded with Grammy nominated vocalist Greta Svabo Bech, who featured on Deadmau5′s Raise Your Weapon. Justin Faust decided to go ahead and remix Sunshine, off At Last. If I was to sum this song up in 2 words, they'd be : instantly catchy. If I was to sum this song up in 7 words, they'd be : all-around dopeness from beginning til' end. I'll shut up now.. hope you enjoy!
TheJourney's 2012 XXL Freshman Predictions list nominee Timeflies crafted this Neon Hitch-inspired remix to Ass Back Home while they were on their tour bus. Gnarly. Cal & Rez are currently ascending on their ride to stardom. Where the bus will stop, no one knows, but I think it's safe to say it's only a matter of time..
Andre 3K and James Murphy get all cartoonish in this animated clip for Gorillaz’ DoYaThing, which is the official video launch of Converse’s “Three Artists. One Song” series.

Feel Alive -- the latest release from Oregon native PropaneLv -- takes us on a ride through regret, emotion, and all the other inevitable outcomes that come with a relationship. Spending most of my life in Oregon before relocating to San Diego for law school, I often miss the Pacific Northwest (the people more than the weather)... but getting to blog about dope artists from Oregon (PropaneLv, BeN GZ, Chi Duly) has a genuine way of making me feel like I'm back in the 503.

SonReal goes in over Common & No I.D. single Celebrate which samples Kenny Loggin's Celebrate Me Home. Funny sh*t and a true story; I was named Crosby after Kenny Loggin's son (who's also named Crosby). So you already know I heard Celebrate Me Home a griiiiip growing up, haha. In case you missed it, make sure to check out SonReal's last track She Gone, it's the kind of track that has the potential to put SonReal on the map in 2012..
Here's the behind the scene footage for Robin Thicke’s upcoming music video Pretty Lil Heart -- featuring Lil Wayne -- which should be released any day now. Love After War is out now on iTunes.
Miike Snow took to his Soundcloud account a few hours ago and uploaded this Wolfgang Gartner Paddling Out remix, the first single off Happy To You -- available March. Check out all our prior posts Sweden's favorite indie-pop band here.
Devine Carama, an indie hip hop artist from Lexington, KY, hit me up with The Populist Pulpit, off his free album Blood Of A Slave. I digs this. Look for Carama's follow up album Heart Of A King to drop March 23rd. On The Populist Pulpit, Carama said:
Its something soulful, lyrical, and substance driven. Peace & Love.

With the release of Breakfast going down on iTunes earlier in the week, Chiddy Bang took to the net today to thank their fans in the form of the free download Zeroes, a track left off Breakfast. In other news, anyone got any thoughts on the news that YMCMB has signed Limp Bizkit? #WhoYMCMBWillSignNext

EQ kills this classic Atmosphere instrumental on The Metaphor. This kid is bound to make noise in the game, it's only a matter of time..
"It started with a boy who adopted a religion. Through perpetuation. That is not decision. Though I am not hating, I'm just looking back.."
Jorge Dasterdly, the man that lives so close he might as well be my neighbor, recently released his latest album Built For Kill which can be listened to/downloaded in it's entirety here. Another Gram is one of those tracks that should be consumed on a hot day next to a BBQ with a cold Caguama. Love this track. Make sure to check out all of TheJourney's prior posts on San Diego's dopest lyricist here.
The young latin sensation brings Weezy F. Baby along for the official visuals to their collaborative track All Aboard. @ 3:25, Lil Wayne's hat...

Hona Costello was gracious enough to let TheJourney get an exlcusively peak at Pop The Cork, a track that won't be on Hona's forthcoming album Penelope - but is incredible dope nonetheless. This track sounds like it should be bumped in a nice whip on a 70 degree night with the windows down. Penelope, coming soon..
We first caught wind of this collaboration a couple weeks back when Converse announced the latest installment of their on-going Three Artists. One Song campaign. This is one of those crazy collaborations that may take me a few spins to fully appreciate. Listen to DoYaThing here.
I have no idea why, but an article I wrote back in August titled Foxconn: 1 Million Workers Replaced With Robots + Suicide Nets Installed continues to get roughly 200 hits a day. As such, it only makes sense to post Nightline's report that aired last night which focuses on the Foxconn ran Apple manufacturing centers in China. Kinda feelin' guilty about my own consumer-driven lifestyle choices right about now..

After promising fans earlier this morning that he'd be dropping some visuals later in the day, Logic comes through with his promise, uploading The Spotlight to YouTube a few minutes ago. The Spotlight is expected to be live on Logic's forthcoming mixtape hat's due out this Spring. Enjoy..
Check out my new single ‘Marilyn’ featuring New Orleans’ indie songstress Dominique LeJeune. After seeing her play at a small DIY backyard concert, I tracked her down and brought her to my studio. She’s got such an amazing, unique voice, so I was stoked to see what we could put together. The outcome was an extremely personal song about the highs and lows of an intense relationship.
Seahorse Paternity Test is the second track that I've posted off IG88's recently released album A Loom & Not Me (the first being Intentions of A Dart Frog). It's getting to the point where IG88's record label should really just lock him and Jenni Potts in a room until an album is finished. We all know that album would be incredible. They have such good chemistry, which is evident by the multiple Jenni Potts featured IG88' tracks that I've posted over the last few months. Make sure to support IG88, otherwise known as Bellingham's dopest producer by checking out A Loom & Not Me here.
Cris Cab drops some tour footage on the official visuals towards Rihanna's Gun off Echo Boom, which is out now.

All Around The World is the second single off Hona Costello's forthcoming album PENELOPE. Setting himself apart from many of his hip-hop counterparts, Hona continues to craft choruses that have as much replay-value as the verses that accompany them. If you're new to the blog, make sure to check out Hona Costello's mixtape #FollowMe which landed at #26 on TheJourney's Top 50 Albums of 2011 list. Hona also produced and rapped on a track with BeN GZ (a buddy of mine since the days of grade-school) a few months back called Lost and Found, make sure to peep that too. PENELOPE, out soon..

From October 2011 to January 2012 a music video was collaboratively made for the song “Became” by Atmosphere. I have two of the coolest grandmothers in the world (who are both roughly the same age as Jhameel's grandmother). Time is short. Jhameel's loss is a well-heeded lesson to myself. On behalf of TheJourney's viewers, our condolences..
Here's my brand new music video, Waves. In loving memory of my grandmother (March 21, 1934 - February 3rd, 2012)

Love this chorus. Via Marky:
I really dig how my team has a broad taste in music. From Reek hippin’ me to Dub-Step, to Ian puttin me on to this M83 guy. The music is brilliant to me and I like to experiment with it from time to time. We’re a few weeks away from Divine Intervention and word is it’ll be dropping early for some ;). Oh, and I’ll have some goods to give out while I’m down at SXSW (dates coming soon). Shhh.. keep that between us tho.
Look for the full length visuals to drop any day now. To hodl you over until then, Mac lets loose the official trailer to Missed Calls.
It's hard not to dig the latest visuals from this 18 Year Old LA-based MC/Songwriter/Producer/Singer..

If you dig Drown Me Out as much as I do, make sure to support Captain Midnite on iTunes.
Ahhhh sh***t. Jon Connor takes a crack at some of the more memorable Jay-Z beats for his latest project The Blue Album. From Takeover to Run This Town to Poppin Tags, Song Cry, Renegade & Heartbreaker, Jon Connor resurrects some timeless production and proceeds to hit this mixtape outta the ballpark.

Such a sick concept..
The new music video from OK Go, made in partnership with Chevrolet. OK Go set up over 1000 instruments over two miles of desert outside Los Angeles. A Chevy Sonic was outfitted with retractable pneumatic arms designed to play the instruments, and the band recorded this version of Needing/Getting, singing as they played the instrument array with the car. The video took 4 months of preparation and 4 days of shooting and recording.

On February 14th, the soundtrack to the film Soundtrack to a Revolution will be released. It features contemporary artists singing traditional Civil Rights-era freedom songs. The Roots perform “Ain’t Gonna Let Nobody Turn Me Around” in this clip, which juxtaposes black-and-white footage of 20th-century Civil Rights protests with color footage of the band performing in a recording studio.
Was stoked to open my email this morning to find a gem awaiting me on behalf of TImo Juuti & Hector 87. Hailing from France, this electro/house/disco/dubstep/whatnot duo has been gaining some nice hype over the last few months with their dope bootleg remixes. Their remix of Dada Life's Happy Violence is the perfect (wobbly) addition to your weekend playlist. Show these guys some love on their Facebook and Twitter pages and make sure to check out all of Timo Juuti & Hector 87's music via Soundcloud here.
